Clean installation of Debian 9 (stretch) and ZM 132.3. Added 2 cameras.
Within hours of operation, the operating system's logs all grow to the point that the root partition is full. system,debug,bandwidth,kernlog and others.
I created 3 partitions: 25GB root, swap and the rest- 450 GB for ZM. That's why the root partition fill up - it's not big.

You are better off using just one partition and a swap partition these days. Several Linux distros are now using a swap file so a swap partition is not needed.
As for zoneminder you should set a cron job to run zmaudit.pl to keep ZM "cleaned out." It can also be run from Zoneminder Options but that is now turned off by default.
