Hi, I have a strange behaviour. probably someone can help me. I have a Foscam FI9901EP connected via cable to my switch. I followed the instructions to connect the camera "Remote" and "RTS/RTSP". Very often I get the following errors.

ERR [ RTSP timed out] and after about 20s its repeating the error.

I reduced the FPS to 9 on the camera no changes, I reduced to 8bit colour no changes. I'm running zoneminder under virtual box on ubuntu 16.04.

Review your monitor connection settings. Your camera is not talking to the capture process. Maybe port or ip are wrong?

We are no longer maintaining the Remote -> RTSP method. Try switching to ffmpeg or libvlc.

http://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/lat ... tml#remote

http://zoneminder.readthedocs.io/en/lat ... tml#ffmpeg

If the problem truly is with the camera, then this may not help, but at least it will help you isolate where the problem is.

Thanks for the info. Seems to work now much better.

Not to bring back an older thread, however I am curious if you could send me a screenshot of the capture settings you ended up using for this camera? For whatever reason, every other camera I have works fine, except for this model.

Thank you,
