Yup maybe, zmNinja uses the system Chromium engine - so its possible that may need updating.
ON the other errors - completely unrelated to this.

OK, I tested the wife's old Moto G4+ which is running Android 8 and it works perfectly fine. Looks like Android 7 is problematic, or the basic 7.0 kernel that I am running (3.10.84-ElementalX-G4.2.01). I'm going to give up on my phone and use the G4+.

Upgraded my [G4] phone to 8.1.0. Same issue. Going to just switch to using my wife's old G4+: the G4+'s dimensions are different, which will require me to re-do my custom docking station in my car (in-dash, using magnetic interface; cable is positioned using plastic weld)- maximum effort. Sigh. The entire ZM upgrade process (from 1.30.4 to 1.34) has been WAY more effort than I'd have liked. Maybe one day I'll revisit my thoughts of becoming a Luddite (from once being fully engaged in high-tech)...
