Remote Host Name Special Characters

Post by Pedulla »

Hi All,
Trying to use the Remote Method to connect to my Hikvision DS-2CD2532F-IS. (As a side note, the cameras are working fine in ffmpeg with modetect etc..., I want to use the Remote Method for the better display on the source column of ZM home screen)

I've read in the various Wiki's the format of the Remote Host Name field is: login:password@camIP

It appears ZM does not like special characters in the credential information. I'm trying to include a ! in the password
ZM prompts with "Host must be set to a valid ip address or hostname, do not include http://"

I've tried:
'login:password'
"login:password"
esc char / before the !

Take the ! out and ZM accepts the entry, but no image from the camera as the credentials are incorrect for the camera.

What say you mighty ZM community? ;)
Thanks

PS - zm 1.28.1 on Ubuntu Server 14.04 (64bit)

Escape character is usually a "\", not the "/".

Typo, that's what I meant....
I think it's a bug handling the string.
