Zmodo ZM-SH75D001-WA

Post by hellishglare »

Hi,

I purchased a Zmodo ZM-SH75D001-WA 720p HD Mini WiFi Camera with Two-way Audio and Remote Monitoring. I can use it with MeShare mobile app which is instructed in the simple documentation and I also can connect and view the video via it's web interface only with Internet Explorer.

I would like to use it with my Zoneminder installation but I can't find the correct url/port/protocol to connect to it. There's no documentation on manufacturer's website about this model. I tried to contact them via email but they didn't answer. Anyone knows how can I use this camera with Zoneminder?

Thanks.

Your camera may be ONVIF compatible. Suggest you probe it with ONVIF Device Manager (http://sourceforge.net/projects/onvifdm/). If you are lucky you will be able to discover the path to the streaming files. Then you can post your success here for others to use.

Thanks for the information. I tried ONVIF Device Manager but it was unable to find the camera. I tried to add it manually but it was unable to connect to it.

I did a port scan to the camera and the open ports are:
TCP/23
TCP/80
TCP/8000 (Device says it's the video port)
TCP/9000 (Device says this is the mobile video port)

Any ideas?

My buddy Google told me to look at the zmodo knowledge base and support forum:

http://kb.zmodo.com/
http://community.zmodo.com/

You need an RTSP url to get it to work with ZoneMinder.

Here is another place to look:

:D Google is my buddy too and I used it a lot to get this camera work with Zoneminder. I already found and read the links you sent but there's no info about this specific model. I tried lots of different RTSP URLs but still I wasn't able to get the video stream. I'm still working on it and I'll post my result if I find a way to view it's video stream.

I wouldn't exclude anything on the basis it is for a different camera model.
If you haven't already, you should try every url you come across, which has the name zmodo associated with it.

Manufacturers will often use the same or similar firmware between different camera models.
Saves them time, and that means the rtsp url's may be the same. No guarantees, but it is better than not.

Note that it is easier to test each potential url with VLC rather than zoneminder. Once you find a url that works with vlc, then put it into zoneminder.

Thanks for the information. I tried the settings on your post "Blue Screen" but unfortunately it didn't work. This camera isn't ONVIF compatible. I've been writing to the manufacturer for the last week but they insist that I should use their "cloud" app to connect to it.

I found their another iPhone/Android app, Zviewer (Version: 1.0.4) which is not using cloud but instead connecting to the camera directly and it works. I sniffed the network packages between this app and the camera, it connects to TCP Port 8000 to get the video stream but I wasn't able to decode the Protocol/URL from the communication. I assume that if this app can get the video stream from the camera so can Zoneminder. But the exact Protocol/URL is needed and the manufacturer refuses to tell me. Any ideas are welcome...
