I can't find Zoneminder to install in Debian 7.5

Post by evertonrj »

Hey guys.

I open the terminal root and digit this command:

#apt-get install zoneminder

(nothing appears)
so...

#apt-cache search zoneminder

(nothing appears again)
so...

I enter in http://www.zoneminder.com/downloads and made manually download.
Open the terminal root
use:
#cd ..
#cd /home/everton/Downloads
#ls
# tar xvf ZoneMinder-1.27.0.tar.gz

Ok and now? How can I do to do ZoneMinder work with my IP cameras?
The directory it was installed is:

# cd home/everton/Downloads/ZoneMinder-1.27.0

You downloaded the source code, you would need to install all the dependencies it requires and compile it for it to run. Not really too big of a deal if you its something you know how to do but the learning curve is steep if you are new to such things. I am not sure if any current packages are available for Debian 7.5 via apt. Are your repos all enabled and have you run 'apt-get update' recently?
