setting post event record time

Post by neuronetv »

when zm records an event I'd like the recording to continue for say 10 seconds after motion has stopped. I can't find the setting to configure this. Where is it?

Click on the "source" for the camera you wish to tweak (3rd column of main ZoneMinder display), then "Buffers" tab and "Post Event Image Count". This is the number of frames stored AFTER the event has ended, and is in "frames", so work out how many frames-per-second your camera goes at, and pop something appropriate in there.

You shouldn't have to adjust shared memory settings or anything for the POST event one, as it doesn't really use any more memory. The Pre-Event one does, however!

You'll have to change it for each camera, if you want it on more than one.

Exactly! This will also eliminate short duration closely timed events and cause them to be shown as 1 event. I've eliminated 2/3rds of my events by finding the sweet spot for this setting.
