Weird error: Can't open /usr/share/zoneminder//media...

Post by Jim March »

Complete error is:

Can't open /usr/share/zoneminder//media/258f3166-4be5-4c10-b4e9-67b75fe70f25/events/1/12/05/18/20/26/16/001-capture.jpg: No such file or directory

It's a "zms" error in "zm_event.cpp".

Yes, I've checked my paths. No problem there.

Please...can anybody tell me how to make this thing work? I've been trying literally for years now :(.

Another bizarre error:

socket_sendto( /tmp/zm/zms-051610s.sock ) failed: No such file or directory

This one is from web_php, file is listed as /usr/share/zoneminder/includes/functions.php in the log. Seems to happen when I try and view an event.

I'm completely lost here...any help greatly appreciated.

/usr/share/zoneminder//media/258f3166-4be5-4c10-b4e9-67b75fe70f25/events/1/12/05/18/20/26/16/001-capture.jpg

Extra slash in the path?

Thank you for your great pearl of wisdom oh mighty zone-geek.

Only one problem. See where I said "I checked the paths"? Yeah, that means I made sure that there wasn't two different paths jammed together with a double-slash in the middle in this epically retarted fashion.

Somehow this piece of crap is picking up two different paths and jamming them together.

My best guess is:

1) I installed ZM from source under Ubuntu 11.10.

2) I upgraded to 12.04 and it blew the hell up.

3) I then installed ZM off the packages in the Ubuntu repos.

4) I now have two different mutant ZM installs jammed together like some kind of Siamese twin with it's guts hanging everywhere.

Sigh.

Best guess now is, reformat the sucker to 12.04 and re-install off the Ubuntu repos. Makes more sense than hanging around here hoping somebody can make sense of the friggin' logs.

Gad. Dammit.

This happens when someone reads fast and writes a response trying to help. No problem, good luck, this user will not try to help you anymore...
