I may have jumped the gun - but it's in house now and well, it works - doesn't work.

vlc rtsp://admin:111111@sg85:10554/tcp/av0_0
takes about 15 seconds and pops up with a good stream. 1280x720 and very responsive - 30 fps.

In ZM I have:
Remote, Monitor, 15.00, 30.00. 7
RTSP, (tried all 4 methods), user:pass@IP, port 10554, path /tcp/av0_0, 24color, 1280x720

will not display. Suggestion????

I am returning the camera. I called Zmodo - you sit on hold for 20 minutes - they want you to configure your router to allow them to logon to your computer - I don't think so. Anyhow it turns out they have configured the camera to work ONLY with MS Windows and IE. Although I was able to get VLC to work (rtsp) I never got ZM to work.

Yes, me too. I bought the cam Epine Camerashop in The Netherlands for EUR 129 ($179) and found out it's MS Internet Exploiter only. You even have to install a very suspicious looking .cab file as administrator(!) in MS Internet Exploiter. The cam worked with VLC 2.1.4 on Windows 8.1 64bit but did not work with Ubuntu 14.04 64bit zoneminder package 1.26.5-1ubuntu3. The error was:
May 21 11:31:34 box zmc_m3[7724]: FAT [swscale does not support the codec format: ▒▒▒▒]
I returned it and have to wait max 30days for money back.

I had a chat with someone from Zmodo and after 34 minutes (yes, 34 minutes) she was able to send me a generic manual for IP cams. The model I bought (ZP-IDR13 720P) wasn't sold in the USA :S. It's not even listed on their homepage.
