"Monitor-X extends outside of image dimensions" Fatal error

Post by MikeDaPsych »

I appear to be seeing a fatal crash of the zma application immediately after the following (presumably non-fatal) warning is reported in /var/log/messages:

Apr 15 19:19:40 cctv zma_m1[1838]: PNC [Zone 3/New for monitor Monitor-1 extends outside of image dimensions, 285, 388, 533, 480]
Apr 15 19:19:42 cctv abrt[1840]: Saved core dump of pid 1838 (/usr/bin/zma) to /var/spool/abrt/ccpp-2012-04-15-19:19:40-1838 (134942720 bytes)
Apr 15 19:19:42 cctv zmdc[1602]: INF ['zma -m 1' crashed, signal 134]

---

I'm running 1.24.(4?) on i686 Fedora 16 under LXDE. Monitor-1 is a V4L2 USB webcam capturing at 640x480.

A full backtrace can be found attached to the RedHat Bugzilla bug #812655.

I'll try to recreate with debug turned on. If successful, I'll post the results.

As a nube to ZoneMinder, I'm posting here as I couldn't find a formal bug tracker for the project. If anyone can suggest a more appropriate tracker for the RedHat bug, I'll duplicate it.

Cheers,

Mike

Check your zone settings and try to bring any points on the outer edges of the image in a little. I came across this error on my install and bringing the edges in a few pixels sorted it out.
