Zoneminder 1.24.2 remotely using IP Camera Viewer Android

Post by metallica1973 »

I have Zoneminder 1.24.2 running on Ubuntu and all is working well. I would like to use IP camera viewer that is available for the android.

http://hit-mob.com/ip-cam-viewer-android/

When setting up the application, it has

make: zoneminder

model: zoneminder Camera Server

host ip: dyndns.mydomain.com

http port: 80 ---> I have my firewall forwarding port 80 to the zoneminder box which is listening on port TCP 80

port: 80

channel: 1

username: admin account on zoneminder

password: password for admin account on zoneminder

and it doesnt connect. How would I setup zoneminder to these specs so that I can connect from my android to the zoneminder system?

Try Tiny Cam, its works very well and easy to setup.... The basic version free and will handle up to 4 cameras.
Also if you have a firewall, make sure port 80 is open.

I second TinyCam, it is the best I have used. The only issue/annoyance I have ran in to with TinyCam is the amount of network power it uses. I have an Android Tablet that has tinycam installed and is run 24/7 with my 4 cameras displayed. When I run this in Mpeg mode on TinyCam, it cripples my bandwidth on my network. However, you can select it to do jpeg, it doesn't cause this problem but the fps on your device may be slower.
