Local display

Post by joako »

Say I am running zoneminder on a dedicated machine already with no GUI.

Is there some simple straightforward way to show on the display the camera image?

Coming from a linux perspective I don't think so, you will have to install Gnome or what ever…
That said I would like support for a local display for our server (in a shop) so we can get a fairly normal display up in the front of the shop…
currently using VGA over cat5 to display the Server Display...

I would agree with tibetfreedom comments you will need to install a GUI for a display of the cameras, if you do install one of the resource friendly GUIs then you might find out that a continus monitor window uses a fare amount of the CPU run time, one solution that I have made is a simple webpage that is refreshed every 5 seconds and hosts a static image.
