multiple feeds and alerting and recording

Post by bobbozzo »

Hi, I have 3 Trendnet cameras, on a ZM 1.24 setup on Fedora 12 on an old Pentium 4 computer.

One camera (an IP-TV522P) supports megapixel resolution (1280x960).

1. Due to high CPU load, I'd like to have the modect run on the 522's VGA feed, but trigger recording off of it's HD feed.
(the camera has multiple profiles with a different URL for each, so this is definitely possible as far as the camera goes.)

I'm having trouble figuring out how I would configure this... would I setup a 'nodect' on the HD feed, and have it trigger from a modect on the VGA feed?
How would I prevent the VGA feed from recording as well?

I've also posted a separate thread about high CPU usage on 'monitor' feeds which may prevent me from being able to set this up if it affects nodect feeds as well.

Thanks,
Bob

Perhaps nodect the HD feed then link it to the SD feed? Click the source link in the console and link it to the other monitor...

Hi, that does work, but it also causes the SD feed to record, wasting CPU etc...
Is there any way to trigger the HD to record from the SD without recording on the SD?

Thanks!
