Whats going on zone minded is spiting this out every 6 or so seconds
Apr 13 17:27:28 homeserver kernel: [17261164.720000] drivers/media/video/ov511/ov511.c: No decompressor available
also another log says this
Apr 13 07:37:03 homeserver zmwatch[8719]: INF [Restarting capture daemon for LegoCam, shared memory not valid]
i didn't change the shred memory key and the cameras are Linux compatible because they work with other software
Shared memory and decompresser
Re: Shared memory and decompresser
This is not zoneminder but the kernel driver for your cam (ov511).kingofkya wrote: Apr 13 17:27:28 homeserver kernel: [17261164.720000] drivers/media/video/ov511/ov511.c: No decompressor available
This usualy means that ZM was unable to capture an image from the device so hence nothing is in shared memory.kingofkya wrote: Apr 13 07:37:03 homeserver zmwatch[8719]: INF [Restarting capture daemon for LegoCam, shared memory not valid]
from http://alpha.dyndns.org/ov511/faq.html
that's 6th link from top if googling TFW for "ov511 No decompressor available"Q: I get "Function not implemented" errors when I run my program, and the kernel complains about "No decompressor available".
A:
* With 1.xx drivers: you need to load the ov511_decomp or ov518_decomp module.
* With 2.xx drivers: make sure that a different driver isn't also loaded (such as ov51x, ov511-1.xx, or the driver that comes with the kernel).
if common sense is so uncommon, why is it called common then?
