Hi Chaps...
Well I have been playing with ZM for a few weeks now, I have managed to get my 4 input capture card running well as well as my Logitech webcam.
I have an Axis 241S which I would like to get working also. I have tried in vain for the last week or so to get it working, but there must be something very obvious I am missing here!...
I am running v1.21.4 of ZM on Fedora Core 4 on a 2.4G P4 with 512M or RAM and a 200G drive.
The Axis is sat on IP address 192.168.1.50 and set to MJPEG QCIF, anonymous viewers enabled.
ZM is set for networking cameras, reg_exp on , HTTP1.0, the rest is default.
If I put the following in a web browser, it works fine:
http://192.168.1.50/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi
I define a monitor called AXIS, set to monitor mode with the following settings in the configureation for it:
Sourcetype = remote
Remotehostname = "192.168.1.50"
Remotehostport = <left blank>
Remotehostpath = "/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi"
Remoteimagecolours ="24bit colour"
CaptureH ="192"
CaptureW="144"
Orientation = "Normal"
When I define the monitor, the "source" stays red, upon double clicking the Name, it opens a window fine, which shows a black image at the correct resolution with 0 FPS.
So... any ideas as to what might be set wrong here??
I have had a look through the original thread by pressureman (here), but no hints there I am afraid (at least he managed to get his working initialy... I am having no luck at all here! )
Thanks in advance
*update:
OK, I have ZM working with other Axis video servers I found on the web using this set up... not sure if they are 241's or not though... hmmmm

I assume you don't use the quotes in the actual configuration.
You might want to try adding the port number, it should default to 80 but never herts to put it in.
Another thing to look at is the image size (even if this is incorrect, I don't think it should result in the monitor showing red though).
You might want to check the config.log in the souce directory and make sure that pcre was detected and compiled in.

Yup, all without quotes
Port is set at 80 (but I have tried a number of different values.
My fault in the original post is that it is not RED but ORANGE.
I have checked the image size, it appeares to be definatly QCIF.
Looking in the config log, I came accross this:
How can I force pcre to be detected and then compiles in? it is located in /usr/include/ ?
*UPDATE:
Actually, pcre.h does get found, it is pcre/pcre.h which isnt.

OK, picture > 1000 words
Main console
Config for "Axis" monitor (Axis 241S video server)
Resultant monitor view
Actual browser view at the configured address (ignore the image qual, I haven't bothered to focus the camera )
And finaly, a successfuly configured video server off the net
