Basics of Camera
Basics of Camera
There are literally thousands of auctions on eBay for all kinds of different cameras. Some of these can be had for just a few dollars, but I am concerned that it will basically be useless for ZM. This isn't a post asking about compatibility-- I'm wondering what I need to look for in a camera. I'm thinking of lux ratings, CCD and CMOS, LEDs, etc. Due to the cost of network cameras, I will probably be going with an analogue camera. Are there any resources which explain the basics? Thanks.

I am biased as i use cameras profesionally but you really do get what you pay for, we use panasonic and bosch cameras and they can cost upto £400 just for a camera (no lens housing etc) If your using it for your house id personally just get a bullet cam probably of ebay for £30 but dont expect wonders lol

ps and the specs they put out mean nothing
they give you a lux reading of 0.08 lux mono but thats with the lens off the gains on max and measuring 0.001v of video
