I think that my problem is that my camera isn't working correctly or not at all. Anyone have any experience with this camera? I don't have X installed so I'm unable to test the camera using xawtv. The zmu command gives the following info:

Code: Select all

# zmu -d 0 -q -v

I don't know if this means that it sees the camera and it's working? I'm not getting any video though via the website. And is the source is showing as red (/dev/video0 (0)). I see the device come up under /dev but I don't know if it's operational. From what I've read this camera uses the pwc module and lsmod shows the following info:

Code: Select all

# lsmod | grep pwc
pwc 83249 0
videodev 13633 1 pwc
When I plug the camera in via usb a video0 device does show up under /dev.

Code: Select all

# ls /dev/

So I'm not sure if it's operational and using the pwc module. Another thing that's weird is that I start the zm service and it says it gets started just fine.

Code: Select all

# /etc/init.d/zm start
Starting ZoneMinder: [ OK ]

# /etc/init.d/zm status
ZoneMinder is running
The thing is though, when I log into via the webpage it says at the top:

ZoneMinder Console - Stopped - v1.21.0

Don't know if this refering to the service or not. But this question is probably better suited under a different forum section. My main question is towards the camera though, any advice as to how to better test my camera would be appreciated. Or if anyone has this camera working please let me know what I need to get it working.
Only wimps use tape backup: real men just upload their important stuff on ftp, and let the rest of the world mirror it.
