Spectra-8 Card on Fedora Core 2

Post by skydiver »

I am trying to get a Spectra-8 card to work under Fedora Core 2 (kernel v. 2.6.6-1.435).

The instruction on the www.bytesex.org site for the bttv-0.9.15 drivers is cryptic to say the least. I tried downloading the "patch-2.6.6-kraxel" file and after installing the kernel rpm but when I tried applying the patch it has many errors.

I upgraded my Core 1 install to Core 2 to get the support for V4L2 (I never got the card to work uner FC1 due to the latest yum updated kernel was 2.4.22 and the patches availiable on the bytesex site started at 2.4.25).

I have ZM installed and ready go as soon as soon as I get the PCI video capture card installed and figured out. When I physically installed the card, kudzu detected and installed the Brooktree Video Card four times (once for each controller chip on the card).

I installed xawtv to test for video input. Here is the results from xawtv -hwscan:

Here is the output from xawtv when I try xawtv -d /dev/video0 (I get a video window that opens then imediately closes):

Any help getting this up and going would be greatly appreciated.
