Operating hard disk size ?

Hello,

I have a desktop running Lubuntu and would like to dedicate it to run Zoneminder.

Roughly, to the nearest 100 Gb, should the hard drive be to run the Zoneminder while using a second, probably 1 TB HDD to store the data?

I'm currently using a 250 Gb HDD for the OS, and think this should be enough.
