Need help with initial setup

I have a p3 1 gig box with 512 meg of ram
I have a KMC4400 card

I have loaded Ubuntu on this computer and installed the card.

I have followed the install instructions for Zone Minder and have successfully set up the software. I can access the software from a browser on any computer in my house.

I set up the source exactly how the zoneminder instructions call out.

my source device is now set to /dev/video0 (0) but it is red
the function is orange

I have looked through the wiki and have found

I tried resetting the bttv file to the suggested parameters and still no luck

I loaded XawTV as suggested in a couple of other forum threads and was able to view an input signal on composite0

My Bttv.conf file looks like this right now.
options bttv gbuffers=16 card=0x85,0x84,0x85,0x85 tuner=4 radio=0 coring=1 full_luma_range=1 chroma_agc=1 combfilter=1 autoload=0 triton1=0 vsfx=0

I only have one monitor set up.

I am pulling my hair out.

any ideas???????

What are the settings for your monitor???

Resolution, color depth, v4l1 or v4l2???

OK I just looked at the message file and pulled this off of the end. not sure what it means but sure looks like something isnt working right. as far as the camera setup goes

/dev/video0, 320x240, ntsc m, 24rgb, maxfps 15,

by the way I have successfully captured video and stills using XawTV.
