decent and cheap IR illuminator?

Post by linuxsense »

Hey all,

I have a camera watching the side of my house that works well enough but its IR LED's are weak. I was considering picking up a IR illuminator but about all I see is stuff on eBay from Hong Kong, I would like to avoid the long wait...

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive IR illuminator that ships from the USA?

hi
it's been awhile since your post.. but.
i've not found a cheap IR illuminator.
the Net Media NM-IRLAMP worked well for
me in a large walk-in freezer
looked like a sunny day in that place.
but cost me 'bout 100.00.
one day im going to try and
make my own.

I never did find anything that I liked for sale but I picked up a few dozen IR LED's (supposed to be good quality) and will be playing around with some sort of home brew solution soon...
