Looking for best camera

Post by Vikas kumara » Mon Apr 27, 2020 2:56 pm

Hi team
I'm looking for an ethernet IP camera with an RTSP protocol that records 1080p to at least 24fs in the color of the best possible picture quality for indoor.
It is used during the day and not as surveillance.
can anybody recommend me?

See https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Beginner_hardware

You get what you pay for. You may be able to use a webcam, also.

For $200 you can get a decent brand name ip camera that has 1080p (or even 2K). You can possibly buy used.

Keep in mind that some cameras don't have IR by default. If you are indoors, and have ample lighting you may not need IR.

I purchased a Foscam G4 which a has very good performance and price:

However, I don't recommend it. You can make some configuration in the app (after creating an account with them, otherwise it is impossible to configure). However, most configuration options like FTP transfer are done in the browser. That should be ok.

In the times of Internet Explorer these chinese companies used to force you to install an ActiveX component to configure your camera (it happened to me before with a no-name camera). But now that nobody uses Internet Explorer, Foscam still requires you to use Windows and install an application in order to access the cameras from the browser. I find this extremely suspicious. Why do these Chinese companies insist in always installing an application in my computer? I cannot understand.

How are the Nikvision cameras? Is it the same? I was reading the article below and was wary of buying the brand, however, I'm not sure that there's any difference.
