Sumpple IP Cam

Post by thefuzz4 »

So Amazon had this as a GB deal last week

https://amzn.com/B01GZRN3C8

I was just curious if anyone has one or if anyone knows if this will currently work with ZM. Its nice that its POE because all of my cameras going forward will be POE cams because well its a lot easier for me to run a Cat5 cable through the house vs the cable plus adapter. For $56 bucks you can't really beat the price.

hey there @thefuzz4, did you end up ordering those cameras, and if so did you get them working in ZM? I see Amazon has some good deals on other Sumpple brand cameras that I'd like to give a whirl, but so far a google and forum search for a confirmation that they will work in ZM has come up empty. I would assume if it's a regular rtsp or http mjpeg stream it'd be fine

Hey there @joeinbend sorry for the delayed response here. No I ended up going with Hikvision cameras and I've been rather impressed with them. They are the gray market variety but since I'm using zoneminder to watch them I'm not really too concerned with the ability to update the firmware. I have all of my cameras off on their own vlan isolated from everything else and not exposed to the outside world.
