Streaming video from BT878 card to external zonemnder server

Hello,

I have placed two cameras in my countryside and connected to zoneminder successfully. Problem is that pc which holds zoneminder is too slow for recording, rewinding, alerting and other stuff. I have an idea to stream video from that pc with BT878 card to external VPS with zoneminder installed and use VPS for everything. What software should I use to translate from pc with BT878 card and connected cameras to VPS with zoneminder?

you should be able to do this with VLC. I'd just run vlc from the CLI from a non-gui version of Linux (to keep the overhead down). You should be able to use VLC to turn the video into an RTSP stream.
