ReoLink RLC-520 Any experience/suggestions?

I recently purchased one of the above for testing and found that my ZM 1.34.6 install on Ubuntu 18.04.04 w/LAMP finds the camera but rtsp but very choppy and garbage most of the time. I then switched over to the rtmp stream as suggested on another thread here and this seemed to clear things up a bit but not great. The camera is a 5MP camera and does 2560x1920 @30fps. I have left all default settings for resolutions/streams.
I set the camera to modect but recordings seem to be pixelated and freezing quite a bit and not recording the entire motion period. I have heard about triggering motion of lower quality stream but recording high quality stream but unsure how to the set this up in ZM. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
ZM is currently being run on a Dell 790 USFF box with i5-2400s with 4GB and 1TB 7200rpm drive
