ZM 1.3 on CentOS 7

Just wanted to report that I did the 1.29 to 1.30 upgrade, and it was trouble-free.
ZM 1.3 appears to be working perfectly, THANKS!

Re: Warning on camera selection

I've mounted a dome camera right onto a light fixture above the door of our building, and unfortunately the light fixture does attract moths, and that always attracts spiders ( they have colonized the general vicinity of all of our external building lamp fixtures). In the early summer we also get qu...

Keeping timelines clear of events during business hours?

OK, I've been reading the (excellent) documentation, and also been searching the forums til I am blue in the eyeballs, but I still am not sure what to do here. I have 7 cams set to modect and a pretty powerful (8 cores) CentOS7 ZM machine with 18 gigs of RAM and 2TB of diskspace. So far, so good wit...

How many ZMC instances?

Doing testing and configuration... for the first time left the Zm running all night. Seems to be working fine, but I notice there seem to be more processes now (or maybe I just didn't notice them earlier?) I see one ZMA process per camera, but what appears to be at least NINE zmc processes per camer...

Console Montage - found some Chrome quirks...

I have seven cameras, but only six of them show up in Montage. (Latest Google Chrome Browser on Win8 or OSX10) The seventh just has empty white space, with State: - fps written below it. ( they all say State: - fps ) ** Using "Cycle" all seven cycle through OK. The six that are there are s...

Re: ZM1.29 on CentOS7...

Just to answer my own question, it seems with the HIKvision DS-2CD2035-I on Centos7 - the best practice seems to be "Use FFmpeg". ( it solves all the 'decoding frame' errors I was getting) * see https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=24586 At any rate, all seems to be worki...

Re: "Error while decoding frame" on DS-2CD2035-I

Well, well, well... I decided to try ffMpeg instead of "remote" and set each of the HIKs with url like rtsp://username:password@192.168.0.3:554//Streaming/Channels/1?tcp And. Yes. The. Errors. Are.... GONE! :D :D :D So, that's 7 cameras total, all running 1920x1080 @ 4FPS.. and with all 7 ...

Re: "Error while decoding frame" on DS-2CD2035-I

and still no joy with these HIK cameras :-( tried Jpg url... Streaming/Channels/1/picture (http) this “works” but provides error... zm_remote_camera_http.cpp (line 808) No content boundary found in header ' image/jpeg; charset="UTF-8"' I can get same "looks good" rtsp stream on u...

Re: ZM1.29 on CentOS7...

OK, with the streams tuned down as low as they go (320x176 for the two D-links, and 1280x720 for the five HIKs - all at 4FPS) - the CPU load is much lower... now running about 0.5- 0.9 when there is some action, and "idling" at about 0.2 However, that is with all monitors set to Modect , w...

Re: ZM1.29 on CentOS7...

Will try that! Reading the notes on /dev/shm in another recent thread... How do I know how big "memory files" should be? /dev/shm is 8 gigs, with 2.5GB used at present. All these tempfs were created by default... I made just one single 2TB partition for the CentOS install, with the intenti...

ZM1.29 on CentOS7...

ZM1.29 on CentOS7... "oops". It's a dual-quad Xeon3Ghz with 18GB RAM Still testing, now have seven IP cams hooked up through an 8-port PoE switch. Activated all seven cams for "MoCord" and immediately caught a couple of events each - and system load went up to "overdrive&quo...

[SOLVED] "Error while decoding frame" on DS-2CD2035-I

So... after a long delay, I'm finally continuing with install. Today have all seven cameras hooked up (two D-link domes and five HIKvision DS-2CD2035-I bullets). Everything more or less working, but zillions of these 'decoding frame' errors in the logs. From what I can glean on the forum, they are r...

Re: [SOLVED] IPCAM D-Link DCS-4602EV

One bit of DCS-4602EV trivia, I found with the D-link panel video MODE setting on type "H264", I was actually only getting one FPS in my stream.
When I changed mode to JPG, now I get the correct 15FPS ... (as I have it set in the "Maximum Frame Rate")
