Re: video missing to DL and time offset.

If you have poorly made cameras, then dropouts can occur.

Encoding errors do not happen with good quality cameras.

Re: Filter makes CPU very busy

There are ~430k events. That will help. Is there a list of the indexes or a way for me to see them. My DB knowledge is only to a level of how to make the disks for a DB super fast. Thank you, There are sometimes built in indexes (count of all entries) but a starttime (which I assume will make a typ...

Re: Online devices limit

Montage viewing of 6 cameras is an unrelated issue. That is only for a client viewing the cameras, not the recording of them. What are your system specs? This scenario looks like you don't have enough CPU / RAM to run 7 cameras. Is this an ARM board? If that is the case, you can try lowering the FPS...

Re: Linked cameras sometimes not working

So i've thought about converting my setup to this, and storage space isn't a concern at all. Question though... Is there a "simple" way to look at the triggered event on the lo-res, and go to that "timeframe" across another monitor (even if it's ALL the monitors), or is there st...

Re: PoE Hardware in an Appliance Form Factor

There are options. If you want low power you probably want an ARM based board that has POE ports. Check linuxgizmos.com or some such similar site. But this limits how many cameras you can use. e.g. https://linuxgizmos.com/linux-powered-nvr-system-offers-up-to-eight-poe-ports/ If you have more than a...

Re: Linked cameras sometimes not working

Not sure why Tortho ninja'd the response, but in any case... EDIT: I see now, he is confused by a similarly named post he made... I'm not sure if I understand you right. So you don't use any links between monitors at all? ... not waste too much disk space with unnecessary recordings. That's correct....

Re: Linked cameras sometimes not working

One option to avoid all of this, is to simply record (passthrough) on the high res stream, and mocord on the low res stream. This is what I do, and I haven't had any trouble.

Re: 1.36.5 higher load vs 1.30.4

Try lowering analysis FPS (on ZM) and or lower resolution or framerates (on the cameras, not zm). This will lower CPU / ram usage.

The above technique is used for SBCs / ARM based boards to some effect.

Re: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket

Docker is more difficult to troubleshoot. Perhaps you would be better off using a bare metal ZM install. Mysql is (I'm assuming) crashing. There are occasionally memory leaks in ZM for various reasons (in 1.34). I resolve this with a weekly or monthly reboot. Otherwise, if you wanted to troubleshoot...

Re: New install RPi - `'zmc -m 1' exits abnormally when camera defined

RPI may not be able to do 1920x1080. Try lowering the resolution / framerate.

It's not just recording a video, it's also trying to do motion detection (mathematical analysis of the stream) which
requires a powerful CPU.
