OK, I'm still a Linux newbie! I've got my Ubuntu 12 server setup with Zoneminder 1.26.5 installation all working. How can I upgrade this to 1.27? In the past I've been able to open up a terminal and type in sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get upgrade and it would update? Is there a step by step guide ...

Does anybody else view zoneminder events on their iPad?

I can log into the interface OK and view a few events but after a while the playback starts slowing down, then safari will crash meaning I have to re-open the browser and log in again. It would be so handy if this worked nice on the ipad.

I can stream direct from my camera to VLC or XBMC by using rtsp://admin:(mypassword)@192.168.0.6:80/videoMain

however I want to stream direct from zoneminder to VLC/XBMC

how can I do this?

Thanks for the info, I'll look into restricting IP's onto my server, I was thinking of doing this at my firewall level.

I know your pain, it took me a lot of time and searching to get it working, all came down to entering ZM_VERSION=1.26.5 in the zm.conf file.

I think it has been logged as a bug and hopefully will be fixed in the next release? who knows

I've had the exact same issue but with a FI8918W camera,

1) Has it ever worked?
2) What version of ZM are you on?

Thanks dvarapala, I've made some progress, the good news it now works. :lol: What I had to do was name everything the same as per your post above. Then added added as last line ZM_VERSION=1.26.5 in zm.conf then do a restart. However now I get the following errors when booting my system, (is this som...
