Re: Just rebuilt zoneminder and 7 cameras
Ok. this shouldn't be that hard to solve, and we have the code to phpbb. So first step is research others having the problem, and if no solution found, we can at least prevent reusing old posts. And filtering urls out of location. Good to hear that ;) -- I hadn't noticed the spam-in-location on thi...

Re: PC recommendations (Wyze Warning!)
explain it to me like I have to explain it to a president of a maker space which thinks he is tech savvy, but has not clue and wants to use wyze cameras instead of a zoneminder setup Well, for a start, Zoneminder and your own choice of IP cameras will never bite you like a WYZE cloud one will. Not ...

Re: Database Connection Problem
Try this syntax instead, maybe it doesn't understand "HTTP" style port specs and is treating all of it as a "host" (which it clearly isn't) :-
Note, big P for port, little p for whatever you were doing with that ...
Code: Select all

Re: Mastering ZM motion detection intricacies?
Before spending time on that, you'd probably have better luck with 1.36.xx, currently at 33 and proposed 34. Nice post though. Do not encourage it. It was a recycled post. https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?p=127164&hilit=Ubiquiti+G3+Flex#p127164 with "daft language" filterin...

Re: New ZM Install on Debian - Continuous rc Errors in syslog
Looking at your syslog dump, I notice the mentions of "rc rc0" upwards, in context of a much longer path to a "Provideo PV951" PCI bus device. Registered IR keymap rc-pv951 2024-02-16T11:22:13.891735-05:00 vss-new kernel: [ 13.229852] rc rc0: PV951 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:...

Re: First Login
Hi all. I've installed ZM on a LinuxMint 21.3 OS following the installation guide for Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy). It appears to have installed OK as it says it's active in the terminal when I check it's status. The user guide then says to open a browser (Brave is my browser) & enter http://hostname-o...

Re: New ZM Install on Debian - Continuous rc Errors in syslog
the system decides to disregard the suppression rules & start spamming the same messages to the console again Just a theory, but maybe things quitting/exitting is a sign of something fundamentally wrong -- so wrong, in fact, that syslogd/klogd or the equivalent part of systemd ... is exitting t...

Re: New ZM Install on Debian - Continuous rc Errors in syslog
OK, looks like I've gotta find and fix the source of this if I'm to have a stable system... ... ssh session from my PC to the server had been disconnected. [console] ... didn't respond to any key presses or the power button. Had to hold the power button in to forcibly kill power and get the system ...

There are a couple of accounts that seem to only post "jovial AI help content". That's one of them ... does that count as "bot content", and is that something that's useful to the forum?

Re: Rpi 4B-8G, 2T SSD, 10 IP cams, 203,000 events-Offline
When I touched the aluminum case, I got a large snap and electrical shock from static electricity. The static discharge immediately shut down the Pi5. I would expect that the power supply you are using is a "floating output" (not referenced back to mains earth) and that means the Pi, and ...

Re: Pixel shifting
I have a few wired Lorex cams with this problem, but this happens with other cams as well. I have a short video that shows the problem, but its 100MB so I cant upload it here. If you could watch it, every few moments you'd see the image shifting just a few pixels one way and then another, also the ...

Re: TCP streaming not recording video
Thank you for the speedy reply. The 8080 port seems to work, even if it is not http - could this be the cause of the lack of video? I do not understand your comment TCP is a method, not a protocol In the Source tab of the camera settings the second section down is labelled Method, and provides a pu...

Re: Run filter after a certain time of day
This is an old thread, I know, but I'm running zmfilter.pl in crontab to remove events with fewer than a couple of alarm frames, and I cannot for the life of me get it to output the results to a log. A log is not critical, but I'm just wanting to see that the filter is working. Any hints about how ...

mikb - I saw you use the word torch. Just for kicks, I tried google translate. It has no idea that a torch might be a flashlight to many of us... Sorry, I forgot the i18n disclaimer/inclusion ;) Yes, in the UK a torch is battery powered light -- not a flaming oil soaked bit of cloth on a stick for ...
