Thanks for the link. Hopefully I can get time to look into it. Would love to get your help if you had time, trying to make a special build of Zoneminder for a certain device that people can use. Before I spend a lot of time on it, honestly how good do you think Zoneminder would run on something with...

Zoneminder on Debian MIPS
Would it be safe to say Zoneminder could be compiled from the main source and ran on a Debian Mips based setup? I've got a very unique device going and if I have the time want to get Zoneminder up and running on it.

Wireless Mesh for Zoneminder 2.0
I've been out of the loop lately with tons of work and events coming up. In the past I've enjoyed working with all sorts of router's and Openwrt for a DIY wireless CCTV solution. Here lately I've been playing with Open-Mesh devices that run Robin-Mesh firmware. It's all based on Openwrt, but in this...

That's good to hear. They will get the wireless to work one day. It's all in the broadcom driver and not being open source at the moment. Some broadcom support is in the Latest builds but not for the 520gu. That router is dirt cheap and works great for all kinds of applications. If you have enough r...

I have no knowledge on the 520gu, last time I looked the 2.6 kernel version of openwrt did not work on it. You might get 2.4 but then your losing a log of packages. I'm about to sell most of my routers as normal equipment since no one has got with me on the 3 I mention. It's a waiste to let them go ...

The usb port should have no problems handling a hub. I haven't tried it myself but others I've talked with have multipe devices running on a hub attached to certain openwrt usb type routers. The only one's I've tested first hand with Openwrt, 2.6 kernel, and usb are the following. WL500W ASUS Deluxe...

I have one sitting in front of me. At the moment I don't have time to put as much into Zoneminder as my hotspot system. If you want this modified one that has about every module under the sun and webcam support just pm me. I've actually got another one that in my opion is better in ways. The WL500W ...

The days of Xbox... Just install Zoneminder on a 2.6 Kernel Xebian install. I probably still have the precompiled Kernel along with 5 Xbox's in the cabinet that need worked on. Heck, i've had Ubuntu running on the 360, you talk about the biggest pain to downgrade and get ahold of KK and the SDA disk...

Was the camera working in Ubuntu? Almost every single usb camera I plug into my DVD install works. I've put extra drivers in and such and typcially find Debian to be behind Ubuntu in terms of a wide range of hardware support. I'm not familiar with Arch, nor have I ever used it. Be interesting to see...

I did have a free version awhile back and if someone still has it out there it would be nice to get it back. I wiped a server out awhile back and never got around to making another free one. You will find plenty of CD version's with just Zoneminder and I think they are no cost, might suit you better.

I've been really busy lately working on a new mesh system for my hotspot. The DVD is still around but now resides on http://www.wifigator.com. or at some point my own site when I finish. It's the last option on the page and a portion of the credit goes back to Phil at Zoneminder. I put a lot of work...

Your probably correct on all your points. I was just trying to use available technology and proven equipment to create a very cheap mesh camera network. Using the routers right now to run usb cam's is rather slow unless I use Openwrt, but then the mesh network needs reworked. The option is there but...
