Re: problem with same camera
If you can't access the cameras directly (their OWN web pages) then it sounds like they've crashed. This could be bad firmware, causing a memory leak, brought on by you using them continuously. 1) Update firmware in cameras to latest, if the manufacturer has fixed the problem ... 2) If there's an au...

Re: Filtering: Syntax for Signal Lost Event?
I fear you may be looking in the wrong place -- I'd be happy for someone to shoot this down though :) If you are using the "filters" tab, that is for filtering Events -- that's where I see "Notes" and "Cause" fields. You're not looking for events, but for log entries --...

Re: local video file
If you really want to test it with a VIDEO file (for testing motion detection on a pre-recorded, predictable file), as it appears you might be doing, try this :- I got an "mjpeg" stream from my camera into a file, and although it wasn't viewable in XINE/VLC, I used ffmpeg -r 5 -i input.mjp...

Re: ffmpeg video output to a specific path
I don't think you can. I skipped that bit, in case it was too much for your case :) Mostly I don't create videos from events. When I do ... the nearest I found was to do this (this may not work for you, depending on if you use the Archive facility...) 1) Make a new filter to make a video from any fi...

Re: ffmpeg video output to a specific path
Hi All, Is there a way to add somehow a path where ffmpeg should place locally the video was made manually? Because it stores the videos now in that folder where the source pictures are. Unfortunatelly the server is far away from me, and the bandwith is very low. I'm trying to get the videos in one...

Can you quote the exact "host name" line, I'm not sure that you need the mac address as well as the IP address.

Re: CCTV Footage for Police?
@dazed: This is the UK, so no such thing as the DA -- the equivalent is the Crown Prosecution Service I suppose. Sadly, they would be unlikely to bring a prosecution as the police have to decide to forward things to them for consideration. In this case, they have already decided that without a state...

Re: CCTV Footage for Police?
@dazed: I think you're right. They categorically denied that they were effectively filing it under "can't be bothered", although the admitted it was "not handled well" -- including the police's failure to take a statement at the time, failing to contact me about the CCTV, them mi...

the camera has a picture but it's features pic. in black and white.. Device Format NTSC I think you are saying that your colour camera, with a composite video output is producing a black and white picture at the computer? Is it an NTSC (American) camera? Maybe you need to switch to Format: PAL-Some...

Re: CCTV Footage for Police?
I've given CCTV from Zoneminder to the police (ongoing criminal damage by little ASBOs) -- not very successfully though. This is not Zoneminder's fault :) Firstly -- after many attempts to download the .avi files, and a long delay, they finally admitted that they "couldn't see them". Passe...

Re: Filter selecting dates doesn't return expected results
Hi, I have a filter with "Date" for first option and "less than" with value -7. Sort by is set to "Date/Time" and Asc. I *think* you have said "Older than 7 days in the future" there. Which *is* all. If you mean "within the last 7 days" use "Da...

OK, that's a valid reason, I'll give you that one!
I'm not sure how to do it from ZM though.

Re: Grabbing one still image
Is there a method to grab an still image from a monitor that is in an idle state?. If you don't find a ZM way to do this, why not go direct to the camera and dump out the JPG from its still-image interface? e.g. wget or curl from "http://yourcamera/image.jpg" into a file? Most IP Cameras ...

I would like to know this too, as it does that in 1.25 -- I gave up trying to make it work and figured it was a cosmetic bug, rather than me missing the point
