basically the pci bus is what will limit you. 2 4chip pci cards I believe is the max however you can also use pci-e cards mixed with the pci. I've heard of customers stacking four cards without too many issues. Besides the PCI bus limit, you might also encounter issues with the kernel (bttv) driver...

We tried... Zoneminder needs quite a bit of babysitting. 1) Table Frames is corrupted... This happens every reboot, it seams. All the time anyway, and it needs intervention to fix. 2) Config is non-trivial. 3) There is no automatic screen. Customers want to turn it on and see pictures without doing...

Woh, thanks for the heads up on that. What would be a recommendation for a PoE camera, outdoor, night viewing min 25m for a decent price? This is probably going to be for my home so I don't want to spend gobs of money but I still want to be able to make out faces in from the data. Thanks. The OD-32...

Re: Ebay Camera Zavio F731E
Beware of Zavio cameras. They are horrible and probably one of the most dishonest companies we've ever dealt with. We _used_ to carry Zavio cameras and after picking up a couple thousand dollars in inventory we were told by a customer that the POE was not functioning in their IR outdoor bullet camer...

Re: how to solve it?
The mysql user you are using does not have the privileges to select, and probably create the database structure.
Install phpmyadmin, or research mysql users. Remember to flush privileges when you are done.

I assign a whole partition using the /var mount point as the storage location. The location of /var is the key. I don't know if I agree with _all_ of /var instead of just the directory that Zoneminder is storing files. If you create a new partition for /var you _will_ want to boot into single user ...

I also want to do motion, record, etc with ZM and megapixel cameras in full resolution Why ZM has not a workarround to do that? How we can improve ZM to process Mpix. ? How we can to do that in Linux or at least record? Thanks. J. There's not much you can do to optimize the way that Zoneminder handl...

Re: ZoneMinder and Ubuntu Server.
I am new to ZoneMinder and am just researching using ZM for a video installation. I have been reading the OS specific installs, I like and am very familiar with Ubuntu but am confused by the note in the Ubuntu install notes. It says: "Using an Ubuntu Server distro, you will not be able to watc...

curtis. Really? That is interesting. Is it ready? The driver currently has working V4L2 for display (MJPEG) and video output. The MPEG4 part should be soon - but I don't believe Zoneminder will be able to make much use of the MPEG4 support. With that I'll close, since I was really using the capture...
