Re: Viewing Zoneminder on the web

Ah.. sorry but this will not work for you unless you port forward your ZM server through the firewall. Which, might be your best bet.

Re: Watching live cycles through prefork'd apaches

So, why are you struggling with building packages? There are plenty of Linux distros that have packages built and tested! Please see the WIKI...

Re: 1.28.109 install

Your issue with the video is likely solved by enabling CGI in Apache. See the Ubuntu server section in the WIKI. https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Ubuntu_Server_14.04_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.28.1_the_easy_way I just noticed that there is a new version of 1.28.109 in the PPA master for Ubuntu Trusty and W...

Re: too much delay between opening windows and start streaming

Documentation where? Suggest you look at this: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_8.1_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.28.1_the_Easy_Way With current Zoneminder builds you do not need to change shared memory. MMAP usage is built in. However, you may want to limit the use of RAM by tmpfs as Debian distros wi...

Re: purgewhenfull removes all events

Turn off (uncheck) OPT_FAST_DELETE. This will delete event images when the database record is deleted. Will take more time and may slow things down a bit but you will not get the wild swings in disk changes. Once you get to a place where things are running well switch to a time based filter. It will...

Re: too much delay between opening windows and start streaming

Are you running the desktop version of Debian and opening ZM from a browser on that PC? Which install procedure did you use to set up ZM?

Re: ZM is writing faster than it's ability to clean

Your three GIG may not be enough for eight cameras. Especially if they are hi def. Reduce the size of your tmpfs to gain a bit more usable RAM. Also reduce your image size. Turn off CREATE_ANALYSIS_IMAGES. Turn off OPT_FAST_DELETE which will allow event images to be deleted with database records. Wi...

Re: ZM is writing faster than it's ability to clean

How much memory do you have? Try moving PATH_SWAP to tmpfs and anything else that uses the /tmp on the hard drive. Many distros use half of the RAM for tmpfs. This can force the system to use swap which will slow things down. If you can, reduce the size of the tmpfs which will give your system more ...

Re: HOOTOO HT-IP008HDP PTZ and the IPCAM.pm

Don't not see the ipcam.pm

Try the onvif camera control type
in Control Device enter your user password or both (user=user&pwd=password)
In Control Address enter the IP:port of the camera
Auto Stop Timeout 1.00
