Re: Adding more storage.
WD Green drive is a good choice. As for adding it there is an old how to in the WIKI for Ubuntu to use systemd to mount a drive. Then add the storage space in zoneminder. Or extend the current drive with LVM.

Capture Method video for Linux version 2
Device Format PAL (at least start here)
Capture Palette Auto
Capture Resolution 640x480 (this may be the entire problem but start low then go higher maybe. This is a Pi3 so do not expect too much with high res)

Re: Upgrade from 1.34 to 1.36 on Debian broke ZM
Hi, I seem to have a similar problem. Running a Debian server which I upgraded from 9 to 11 recently. Since then I have issues with ZM. I realised that 1.36 is now the current version so I changed the zoneminder.list file to point to 1.36 bullseye. But now it seems to be completely broken. Not sure...

Re: Memory usage
I just built a new machine and installed 32 GB of RAM... thinking that should be sufficient. I just noticed that I'm solidly using 26.0 GB of RAM, thankfully no swap, but only 4.6 GB is listed as available. While I'm glad I'm not at 100% and 0% swap, I'm curious what is using all the RAM. I'm not s...

Re: Problem on zoneminder 1.34.22
I am having a problem on zoneminder 1.34.22 every time motion is detected. I think there is a deduplicate trigger sent and cancel another. Any suggestion? Thanks! Do not quite understand your problem. Can you provide a bit more information, please. Also which Linux distro and version. What instruct...

Re: Upgrade from 1.34 to 1.36 on Debian broke ZM
Well, I am basically lazy and use Webmin to backup and restore a database. AS for VM's - I do use Virtual Box to "test" distros and sometimes an install procedure. But I feel that using a VM adds work to a system that could be used elsewhere in a production environment. Old guy...Old habit...

Re: mysql's timezone does not match the system timezone!
That wonderful YouTube video aside there are easier install instructions in the ZM WIKI here: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Ubuntu_Server_or_Desktop_Zoneminder_1.36.x AS for the timezone issue, your time is likely coming from the php.ini. There is a setting in there to change the timezone but you can ...

It will happen when it happens!
I am glad you have the time to experiment with beta versions. In my opinion Ubuntu has become a pain and I seem to get better performance with Debian.

Built another VM and followed https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_11_Bullseye_with_Zoneminder_1.36.x Error right out of the box. Job for zoneminder.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status zoneminder.service" and "journalctl -xe" fo...

Re: Linux Mint LMDE 5 Elsie Debian
There are instructions in the WIKI for Buster and Bullseye. Use the one your version of Mint is based on. Actually you will be better off with Bullseye with no GUI and ZM 1.36.

Re: High Swap Memory Use
Please can anyone help and advise why my ZoneMinder installation increases its use of swap memory over time making the server and the application slow. I have summarised my installation details below. version 1.36.13 Installed memory 4GB 3 cameras 5 Monitors in total 3 monitors at 640 x 480 1 zone ...

Re: Upgrade from 1.34 to 1.36 on Debian broke ZM
What version of Debian? Where did you install ZM 1.34 from? The Debian repo or the zmrepo? Did you do the upgrade from the zmrepo? What hardware is ZM running on? I can set up a test machine and try to duplicate your effort. Something else you might try is to save a backup of the ZM database, wipe t...

Re: Second monitor keeps crashing
Check the database to make sure it has sufficient resources. Install mysqltuner and run it as root. Look for sufficient innodb_buffer_pool_size to start.
