New P72 Axis video encoders?
Can anyone give me advice on using one of the newer Axis P72 video encoders with ZM? Specifically, I'm looking at the P7216 to encode 16 analog cameras. I've searched all over but haven't found anyone using ZM with one. Maybe it's just because they seem to be fairly new. Axis appears to have a good ...

Re: ZM not working with my cameras
So are any /dev/video* devices being created at all? I've had problems in the past with cams getting assigned different /dev/video* entries each time the system boots. I ended up making some udev entries to create symlinks that I could rely on to be there regardless of what actual /dev/videoX device...

Deleting an event + all linked events
When looking through events, it is possible to delete an event and have all linked events deleted at the same time? Seems like I spend a lot of time viewing and deleting linked events that get created when the primary event turned out to be a false alarm.

Using 2 PV-183 8 port PCI cards
I'm looking to install 2 Bluecherry PV-183 8 port (240 fps) PCI boards in one computer. I need 16 ports and the last 16 port card I tried didn't work out so well. Does anyone see any problems with running two of these cards in one machine? They are PCI cards, not PCI-Express. Will two cards overload...

PV183-16 vs. PV981-16 - help me decide
I need to purchase a capture board that will handle 16 cams in a Zoneminder box. No need for audio capture. I'm trying to decide between these two cards. I realize one is PCI-Express and the other is PCI. However, it looks like the PCI version will give slightly faster frame rates. If I did the spli...

Recommend a 16-port capture board?
I need to replace a Q-See DVR with a Zoneminder box. I currently have a 16 camera Q-See DVR with 12 analog cams in use. I looked at the Bluecherry BC-H16480A but have found very little on it. The few posts I found seemed to indicate that people had problems getting it to work with Zoneminder, althou...

Statistics about preclusive events?
I'm wondering if it's possible to get some statistics on how effective my preclusive events are. We're having a partly cloudy day today that's reeking a bit of havoc on my motion detection. I haven't noticed anything in the log that indicates an event that was cancelled due to a preclusive event. Is...

Re: Bird Cam - How to Evict a Sparrow
Yes, that's a male house sparrow. You can tell by the black bib under his chin. They are relentless. They don't give up easily. If they find a nest they want, they will go in and break eggs or kill other young birds. They are cavity nesters and the problem is that they are smaller than most of our n...

Re: Bird Cam - How to Evict a Sparrow
If you are talking about the European House Sparrow (HOSP), then they are considered a pest. They are not native and are not protected. I do purple martins as a hobby and the HOSP are agressive and will drive our native birds out of their nesting places. Trap or shoot is my advice.

Custom info in timestamp?
I have some temperature sensors that I am reading via digitemp. I would like to be able to incorporate the current temperature into the timestamp that ZM adds to each video stream. It looks like the timestamp string just accepts the date command's % format specifiers. Any ideas on how to do this? I'...

Re: Zoneminder or Apache hanging when watching events
That did it. I deleted the second monitor, rebooted and then recreated it. It works fine now. Thanks!bb99 wrote:Try deleting the second monitor and then recreating it. Experienced something similar and turned out to be a MySQL issue. Recreating monitor fixed without having to screw with DB.

Zoneminder or Apache hanging when watching events
I'm running Zoneminder 1.24.4 on Ubuntu 11.04. I have a PV-149 card with two cameras attached to input 1 and input 2. The camera on input 1 has been up and running for a couple of months with no problems. I just added the second one today. When I try to watch a recorded motion detect event from came...

I wonder how I missed that. I searched just about everything I could find before posting. Well, thanks for pointing it out.

Re: No analysis images being saved
Replying to my own post. I have been doing some more debugging. I've found that analysis images (with the changes outlined in red) get saved if the zone they occurred in has Alarm Check Method = Blob but not if Alarm Check Method = Alarmed Pixels. Is this the correct behavior? Why wouldn't analysis ...
