As others have said, a ping check doesn't actually check whether the service (camera) is functioning. A better solution might be to monitor syslog for ZM messages, which trigger when ZM is no longer able to monitor a camera's feed. I've just merged the DB fix into the master branch.

Hey there. All that you should need to do is build and install zoneminder from source, and then run the zmupdate.pl script. The wiki instructions for upgrading should be applicable.

My bad regarding puppet - it is only for fresh installs and doesn't handle upgrades at all.

I am pleased to announce that ZoneMinder version 1.26.0 is now available to download.

This release is mainly focused on bug fixes, but also includes some large changes which aim to improve performance and allow clean compilation on modern ffmpeg releases.

A good starting point might be to follow my install script (https://github.com/kylejohnson/puppet-zoneminder)
If you run that script, you'll have ZM 1.26 system from source.
