Re: Techwell TW2815 / TW2816 chipsets

Good day all. I would like to know if anyone can confirm if the Techwell TW2815 / TW2816 chipset DVR cards are compatible with ZoneMinder. If not can someone please advice a 6-8ch card that can support at least 10fps per channel. Thanks for your time. Best Regards. They are not supported.

Re: Lines (NOT interlacing) in Images

This is usually the result of a power supply issue. Try swapping out power supplies and seeing if the issue goes away

Re: Discussion to integrate X264 support

We will have H.264 hardware compression cards available in January. While Zoneminder would have to be mostly rewritten to support the streams, you would save months of development time by using the H.264 stream that comes off the card and saving it in the proper container format that you need. The M...

Re: 8Ch Good Card Based in UK or good delivery

So you would recommend BlueCheery …? But that is not free is it ? Also I want to run my own scripts on data such as automatically uploading images / video when an incident happens. Our software is not free. We will have some API control in version 2 and you are welcome to add this idea here: http...

Has anyone seen a good one ?
Zoneminder does not support audio
Oh isn't that a feature it possibly should have ?
It's not possible without a *huge* rewrite of the code, so don't expect it (ever).

GET data usually gets logged in the access logs, where as POST data won't. You can hand out URL's that include GET data, but not POST data. POST data is also used for uploading binary data. So I would say that you should always use POST data for private/sensitive stuff or for forms, but GET is fine...

Re: Bulding a new home and electrical plan deadline imminent

Run RG-59 (siamese) along with Cat6 (for future upgradability) to each location. The siamese will run video and power for analog cameras and the cat6 could be used for POE network cameras. You will need 2.1mm adapters to go from the 2 18 gauge bare power wire to the female plug on the cameras (assum...

You could try this mplayer command to manually set the resolution
mplayer -tv device=/dev/video1:width=704:height=480:outfmt=mjpeg:fps=25:decimation=1 tv://

In order to use a (higher) resolution you need to set the resolution (once) and the driver will stick to that resolution. Opening the device up in vlc, mplayer and (maybe?) ffmpeg with the resolution setting you need (and the device supports) should be all you need to do. You would need to run this ...

Yea, this is a bug in Zoneminder. If you save the jpeg to disk and load it that way it usually works...but Zoneminder can't access the MJPEG encoder.

Your best bet is mess around with piping the video in from ffmpeg, or wait for the patch to use the MPEG-4 encoder.
