Re: Java.net SocketException: Unexpected End Of File
Solved. Reading a thread on Centos 6 problems prompted me for the answer: https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=24625 I needed to run 'make uninstall' in the old manual install directory and then reinstall 1.29.0 from RPM. Then my error changed to an nph-zms error - where I found I ...

Re: Java.net SocketException: Unexpected End Of File
Still no solution. Tried both Firefox and Explorer. Made sure Java was up to date. This *was* working with 1.26.3.
Maybe an Apache config error?

Re: Java.net SocketException: Unexpected End Of File
I am guessing this is a paths issue. My previous 1.26.3 install was a manual compile from source. So I put the web files directly under the root web folder /var/www/html. But this install is from RPM. And that package puts the web files under /usr/share/zoneminder/www and creates an Apache alias for...

Java.net SocketException: Unexpected End Of File
I upgraded from 1.26.3 to 1.29.0 on my CentOS 6 box. The interface shows that events are being recorded. But attempts to view events or live video give the above error message. Things were working under 1.26.3.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Excellent. I think your links point to all the information chippy99 and myself have at this point.
Thanks.

Re: 1.26.4 Upgrade Failure
Well this should be drawn to the attention of whoever wrote the last "fix." It clearly broke something. RTSP is working in .3 and not working in .4
The code should be rolled back.

Re: 1.26.4 Upgrade Failure
Well I can tell you where to put that pull request.
In all seriousness, is there somewhere I should put this? It looks like chippy99 has already posted about this problem. Is there already a bug report?

Re: 1.26.4 Upgrade Failure
Not for me it isn't. RTSP works under 1.26.3 but apparently not under .4. See chippy99's thread for confirmation. I received the same errors and am back to 1.26.3.

Re: 1.26.4 Upgrade Failure
Yup. Your log messages look the same.
But I see no resolution in your thread. I'll subscribe to your thread in case you get any new info.

1.26.4 Upgrade Failure
Tried to upgrade from 1.26.3 to 1.26.4 and failed. I have one camera out of five configured as RTSP. It's working under 1.26.3 although I'm having some event playback issues. After upgrading, the log showed an endless stream of RTSP decoding errors. The real time display was there but with display e...

Re: 1.26.3 Event Playback Stops
Well increasing the buffers *seems* to have helped. At least with playing back new events. Lets upgrade to 1.26.4 and see what happens.

Re: 1.26.3 Event Playback Stops
In "buffers", check that your "image buffer size" is at least double the size of your "pre event image" setting. Yup, image buffer was 40 while pre-event was 10. I assumed those buffers only related to recording and not to playback which is where my problem is. When I ...

1.26.3 Event Playback Stops
Just installed my first HD camera, 1280x800 running RTSP 15 FPS. Video is nice and clean.
My problem is playback in ZM. Events show a certain length but only playback the first 10 or so frames. Then playback halts. I've repeated this in Chrome, Firefox and IE.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

Re: DLink DCS-7010L RTSP Config
Figured it out. Forgot to set profile 1 to MPEG4. Remember kids, RTFM! At first quality was horrible. But then I set constant bit rate up and frame rate down. Quality is better now. I never expect 30 FPS from security cameras. 15 would be great. 10 is acceptable. Getting 15 now. Will probably tweak ...
