You did do a ZoneMinder restart and xlib_shm restart after changing resolution? That's crucial!

I use Ubuntu server 8.04 on all machines.

I use the half of full PAL:

Capture Width (pixels):384
Capture Height (pixels):288

Maybe that works....

I'm not really sure that this is to do with shared memory. My guess is it has something to do with PAL/NTSC or RGB/YUY422/etc. But, after you edited the /etc/sysctl.conf file, did you reboot? Or execute the command to reset the system to the values int the sysctl.conf file? Still a weird problem... ...

I use Xlib_shm on the Zoneminde PC. This works great! I have info on this in my blog. It's pretty easy to set up, and works great!

Would the work done with xlib_shm be of any help? This also grab images directly from Zoneminder (as far as I understand it).
