Disable / Enable Cameras that are not responding script
NOTE: Please read full post, and edits at the bottom. In my setup which uses Foscam 9805s and ZM 1.29, they occasionally drop out and do not return. Whether cameras dropout is brand dependent. I was able to get better results by extending the zmwatch timeout in options, but dropouts continued. I'm n...

Wiki 500 Internal Server Error
The wiki seems to be unable to accept edits. I made one edit, which saved, and then the next one did not work. All future edits return 500 internal server error message. Tested in multiple browsers.

Re: Cannot create new monitors
Installing on Gentoo is less documented and done than others. Newcomers are advised to follow the install guides on the wiki for Ubuntu or Debian. All settings for the monitors can be read in mysql. # mysql -u root -p use zm; select * from Monitors\G As a sidenote: I've had problems making new monit...

Re: API Events from Last Hour Omits Cameras with no Events
Isn't it possible to use this? Select Monitors.ID e.Count from Monitors left join (select Events.MonitorID, COUNT(*) as Count from Events where StartTime >= (DATE_SUB(NOW(), interval 1 hour)) group by Events.MonitorID ) as e on Monitors.ID = e.MonitorID; Maybe it's more trouble than its worth, this ...

API Events from Last Hour Omits Cameras with no Events
Using devuan Jessie, 1.29. I noticed that when running this command curl "http://server/zm/api/events/consoleEvents/1%20hour.json" you get a list of events for cameras in the last hour, that are not zero. That is, if events exist, then you get the monitor ID, and the # of events. Howver, i...

Re: Question about setting up Wanscam JW-0004
I did try to do as You suggested and use admin:SecretPassword@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:99 This did not work I did this from a browser. Do You mean that I should set this (admin:SecretPassword@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:99) in ZM ? Yes. You put that in ZM. Looking in the gui there is no way to remove the user and do &q...

Re: Question about setting up camera
The username and password must be passed to the camera, unless you have enabled a no-password required mode in the camera gui.
try using username:password@ipaddress
instead of just the ip address. You could also add it as arguments to the end of remote path. Either should work.

Re: Can't get Hikvision DS-2CD2385FWD-I setup
I've seen cameras and DVRs with limited password lengths, no surprise. It would be good if you could add this information to the hardware compatibility list in the wiki.

Re: Can't get Hikvision DS-2CD2385FWD-I setup
I'll try leaving it blank. In the Hikvision Wiki it says to set it slightly higher than the camera, and from reading it is apparently to keep CPU usage in check if the camera drops off? Max FPS can be set on the Hikvision camera web server, but you should not set it on ZM. Firmware is 5.5.3, not su...

Re: Can't get Hikvision DS-2CD2385FWD-I setup
I've tried different max FPS (I know to set it a little higher than the camera), You should not be setting max FPS anywhere on ZM for remote or FFMPEG. Max FPS is only used for local cameras. I keep seeing references to using OnVIF; however, Hikvision disabled OnVif in the latest firmware, which I ...

Re: 8 Port BNC/Analog Capture Card
I would recommend you use an 8 port video encoder. This would be a DVR box, that will connect via ethernet to the network. If it serves up RTSP or MJPEG on the network, then those streams may be readable by ZM. More details are on the wiki hardware list.

Re: Digoo-M1Q
If the camera works in VLC, and FFMPEG fails, you should try source: LibVLC. Stream RTSP paths can differ based on cam firmware. What is the firmware of the Digoo? If ONVIF detected those URLs, they usually work. 1.30.4 ZM has an Onvif probe you could try. Did you try 960 instead of 962? Blue screen...

Re: Determine what caused alarm
One option which is not related to zones but will help you to 'determine what caused alarm' is if you use ZMTrigger. You can specify the source of zmtrigger in its packet (see /usr/bin/zmtrigger.pl on debian). This means you could have multiple hardware devices; let's say a PIR, a laser diode sensor...

Re: Commands won't run from filters
I don't get this. Who is the www-data user? Is that a user? How do I find out what users there are on my system (I thought there was just me and root). You may want to do a web search on "linux users and groups", and another on "www-data user linux". You are lacking fundamental ...
