Re: Lost all network cameras
What are the cameras you are using (I looked through the thread and could not see that you mentioned them)? The errors you are seeing tell me that you have a camera setting not just right. Ubuntu 15.10 should run like a champ! You may want to do teh setup with the default ZM 1.28.1 get your cameras ...

Re: Debian 8 with Zoneminder 1.29.0 instructions
Had this same issue with Ubuntu 15.10 after an upgrade to 1.29.0 Solved by doing: chown -R www-data:www-data /usr/share/zoneminder/ You still need to edit /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/zoneminder.conf and add: <Directory /usr/share/zoneminder/www/api> AllowOverride All </Directory> Restart Apache Works ...

Re: Debian 8 with Zoneminder 1.29.0 instructions
This did not work for me. Will try the other recommendation. A user in the IRC channel reported a similar problem (But he was upgrading from 1.28 to 1.29) We added this to /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/zoneminder.conf <Directory /usr/share/zoneminder/www/api> AllowOverride All </Directory> Then do a sud...

Re: Streaming USB via VLC HTTP Problem
Use the same string you use in VLC to view the video in the ZM Source Path. Match the remote Method to your stream.

Re: Zoneminder 1.29.0
Start over with a fresh install from a Ubuntu 14.04-4 server install CD. http://www.ubuntu.com/download/server/install-ubuntu-server Next see the Zoneminder procedure at: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Ubuntu_Server_14.04_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.29.0_the_easy_way or http://zoneminder.readthedocs.org/e...

Re: Streaming USB via VLC HTTP Problem
libvlc will not work on some cameras. Use ffmpeg instead. I have a Foscam FI9821W v2 that refuses to work on VLC or libvlc but runs like a champ on ffmpeg! The other thing you have to have spot on is the resolution (Capture Height and Width) to the pixel! Else a blue screen will happen. Also the Ref...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04 Zm 1.29 Fresh Install Stream Errors
So, why did you not follow these instructions? https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Ubuntu_Server_14.04_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.29.0_the_easy_way or http://zoneminder.readthedocs.org/en/latest/installationguide/index.html Your developer sure plagiarized my how to and made things complicated for you. Some of...

Re: timezone error on fresh install
Well, it looks like you have the correct entry and you have restarted Apache. I have done this install several times with no problems. Make sure you edit /etc/php.ini and the entry is: date.timezone = America/Chicago and Chicago is the timezone Linux thinks you are in! User the date command to doubl...

Re: Remote source with type RTSP and auth
If you can get VLC to work Zoneminder, too, will work with ffmpeg and/or libvlc using the same string in the Source Path. As we have stated time and again you have to have the capture height and width cited exactly to the pixel!!! I'll not rant on about this but there are several tools you can use t...

Ah, I did not say to change the font but to change the zoom. And I had thumbnails on the right and did not have that issue.

Re: Problem with FLAT style
I do not think your "problem" is related to the Flat style in Zoneminder. I did a test switch from Classic to Flat and back again and I saw no change in the events displayed list. it does seem that you have the fonts in your browser set large. If you are using Firefox try Zooming out to, s...

Re: Viewing live stream stops without reason.
Which web browser are you using? Are you leaving the "main" Zoneminder page open when you view the montage? Is your PATH_SWAP set to /dev/shm?

Debian 8 with Zoneminder 1.29.0 instructions
I finally got around to updating the install instructions for Debian 8 using the backports to install Zoneminder 1.29.0: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Debian_8_64-bit_with_Zoneminder_1.29.0_the_Easy_Way I do not plan to do an upgrade procedure for Debian but the process is much the same as Ubuntu 14.0...

Re: Zoneminder 1.29.0
Remove the ; from in front of date.timezone
And yes, it is correct in the instructions.
