Re: virtual host for ZoneMinder.

Fine, I'll bite... is there a really good reason why you're compiling this yourself instead of using a pre-made package for your distribution? From your other posts it's pretty clear you have next to no linux experience, and compiling apps from scratch is definitely medium-level linux territory. By ...

Since that feature is dependent on your browser's cookies, have you tried nuking them? Also if you've been playing with your browser's security features with respect to cookies, that can also foul things up. e.g. cookiecutter.

Re: Camera Settings for D-link DCS942L

Are you sure you have wget installed? All three of your wget commands work here. (Along with simply fetching the file with a regular web browser!)

Try running wget with no arguments. If it fails, you don't have wget installed.

Re: Newb with questions about remote/internet access

Only problem is zm is not as straight forward in setting up access from the internet. I have googled but there are so many posts that just gets the cameras working on the local lan but not how to setup access from the internet. And what makes things a little more complicated is Apache2 and port ass...

Re: Newb with questions and a problem

I do have both OPT_FAST_DELETE checked while RUN_AUDIT checked in Options, but I think the key word is eventually when the audit is done it will delete the orphans. I gave it a total time lapse of 15 seconds! I'm a little impatient. Ha, not really; normally when people hit delete things... get dele...

Re: Problem with EasyN H3-V10R Wi-Fi Camera

I guess I'll start another thread here to see if someone knows how to build it with the VLC library included. It's great to know that it does work with this camera with libvlc. Did you make sure you added the libraries in that link? Even with zm compiled correctly you need to have those libraries a...

Re: Problem with EasyN H3-V10R Wi-Fi Camera

It seems to work fine with the VLC player at 10 fps, no glitches. When I try to use ZM with source type libvlc I get a syslog message that I need to have the VLC library loaded. Where can I load that from, and do I need to rebuild zoneminder after loading it or is it dynamically loaded? As I said a...

Re: Problem with EasyN H3-V10R Wi-Fi Camera

Yeah that (smearing of the image) is a known bug of ffmpeg. Doesn't usually happen if you have enough horsepower, though. Can you view the stream through VLC on a computer? If so then libvlc should work. (I find it's easier to dink around with the VLC client to get a working stream than directly in ...

Re: Getting this properly set up....

Suggest setting up some monitors.

You're not going to get much with a 1GB drive for storage, though.

Also suggest switching to a 32-bit colorspace, unless you have a really good reason not to.

Re: Linked Monitors

Wait... is it just showing a list of the other cameras, or is one (or more) of the cameras actually highlighted/selected? Showing a list (with no cameras selected) is normal operation. (Not showing a list = problem.) If you just need to clear the last selected one, hold down control while clicking. ;)

Re: Run as another user:Group

You have a permissions problem. Throwing somebody in another's group doesn't give them the same rights as that user. (It just adds that person's group privileges, which can and apparently are different in this case.) If I were you, I'd run two simultaneous instances of apache each on a different por...

Re: Newb with questions and a problem

1. Can I set a storage limit for HD space on a per camera basis? If so where are the changes made. (I have two foscam FI8918W cams)(Like to setup 100GB per camera) I don't think there's a way to do this on a per-camera basis. (I may be wrong, but I think ZM does it as "percentage of total stor...
