Glad you got it working.
In my case, it's a gigabit switch, and it often happens with nothing much going on on the network, even when we are all asleep. And for me, it ONLY happens on the 2 ffmpeg channels. I have 6 other channels that are not affected.

Re: New problem - camera goes red
So this was a new camera to my system and after adding it I was getting the red image configured with ffmepg. Iwas reading the forum and seen configurations using rtp/rtsp as the source type so I tried that but was unsuccessful. I re-configured using ffmepg and it is now working, nothing different i...

Re: New problem - camera goes red
Over the last few days, I have managed to recompile everything on my server, from source. I have the latest ffmpeg, and everything was updated from git to the latest and greatest. I have still had one RED event yesterday. The system "feels" more stable, but that could be my imagination. I ...

Re: New problem - camera goes red
Unfortunately, I cannot even start zm now.
Completely dead in the water.
Can uninstall, reinstall, nothing.
I'm not sure I want to do complete rebuild after investing 3 months getting this setup.

Re: New problem - camera goes red
I was just able to get a minute to test something. I deliberately interrupted a camera for a second. ZoneMinder lost the image, and went red, and never resumed streaming. Simultaneously, I was watching the camera with GSurf Pro. The camera froze, then resumed streaming in a couple of seconds. Now, h...

Re: New problem - camera goes red
Oops, I responded to quickly.
max fps fields are already blank here. I found that out back when I first started setting it up.
I'm going to start looking at the source code tonight...

Re: New problem - camera goes red
Just a thought, could you clear any entries you have in the Maximum FPS and Alarm Maximum FPS fields (make them blank). My camera's were going red in Zoneminder (but streaming via VLC worked fine), by clearing these fields, ZM has not missed a beat since. The cameras are already set to 15 FPS inter...

Re: New problem - camera goes red
mikb, the ffmpeg version appears to be git-2013-10-09-885739f. I compiled from source. Only the ffmpeg channels have this problem. All networks will have intermittent glitches, so we need to find a way to make the zm agent gracefully reconnect if something goes wrong. And that's just an assumption, ...

Re: New problem - camera goes red
No one has a clue? I get up every morning to a random group of cameras just RED. No recordings of alarms overnight. I have to manually go into zoneminder and edit each camera and click SAVE to get them to reconnect. I have to repeat this ritual every single day. My old Atrix DVR ran for 4 years non-...

New problem - camera goes red
In the past 2 days a new problem has appeared in my installation. Camera 1 just goes RED, for no apparent reason, and never recovers. I have to manually reset it in ZoneMinder. The camera itself is fine, and I can connect to it outside of ZoneMinder and it is streaming normally. What's really odd is...

Re: Smearing images making system unusable
Whats your load average and IO wait % like? I have noticed if I cause heavy disk access on my system it will cause smearing. I am running a core2duo E8500 on a single 7200rpm disk. My load avg is normally around 1.1 with 6 ip cams at 640x480 and 1 at 1280x960. My load is around 1.57 average. I have...

Re: Smearing images making system unusable
It is crazy. For me, I had a problem on camera 1 with smearing. For the past 2 weeks, I've had no smearing on camera1, but the problem jumped to camera 8. Camera 8 now goes into alarm every 10 seconds because of corrupted / smeared image. And nothing has changed in camera 8 for over a month in terms...

Re: Smearing images making system unusable
I've dropped my resolution down to 1280x960, 20 fps, 4,096 kbps.
No smearing now.
Looks decent. Now I just have junk cameras to deal with...

Re: Smearing images making system unusable
I lowered the resolution and the system is doing better now. However, I do use ?tcp on the ip cams. Wireshark shows they are still connecting by udp.tduncklee wrote:Add ?tcp to the end of the url to force ffmpeg to use tcp. This should stop the smearing.

Re: 1.26.3 Event Playback Stops
In "buffers", check that your "image buffer size" is at least double the size of your "pre event image" setting.
