Since a small solid-state type of pc would not accommodate a PCI or PCI-E card, is there a way to put the capture card in another box and then plug it in through USB into the pc? I know Hewlett Packard makes a PCI Expansion Module, model GZ286AA. Not sure if that type of thing would work for this o...

Re: Low power, fanless, solid state DVR and six analog camer

You will need a PCI / PCIe slot for a capture card...unless you plan on running USB cameras

We _may_ have a mini-pci capture card in the near future...but I'm not sure when.

Re: ubuntu package 1.24.2

anybody knows when or why it hasn't, the package for ubuntu being updated to 1.24.2 it seems to be the same maintainer from the Debian package, and said package is already at 1.24.2 at launchpad it seems that 1.24.2 for ubuntu, will be coming out with Lucid Lynx... but that seems quite far, for its...

Re: ffmpeg, multiple installs, library paths - please explai

Without diving deep into this...you might try to statically compile ffmpeg. This will make the binary _huge_ but you wouldn't run into as many library problems with multiple ffmpeg installs.

You have to copy tw68.ko to /lib/modules/ "current kernel" /kernel/somewhere. Doesn't seem to matter exactly which sub dir you put it in.
then run sudo depmod -a
I would do this:
cp tw68.ko /lib/modules/`uname -r`/extra ; depmod -a

I think what happened is that the installed got goofed. I downloaded the rpm package with Firefox, and then let it install automatically. I think the best thing to do is to remove it and install it from source. To uninstall it, I can just stop the service, remove the service, and delete the files? ...

Re: Problems installing mysql

I don't know anything about SuSE, but most distributions (Ubuntu / Debian / Redhat) split the mysql server and mysql client into different packages.

Search for mysql-client and see if it pulls up.

Just FYI Axis discontinued the 207 (207W, 207, 207MW). The replacements are the M1011(W) and M1031(W).

Re: Can't register for wiki and update fedora page

I can't find the link to register for the wiki. I would like to add the following tidbits: On Fedora 12 new install, you must enable short tags in PHP and add date_default_timezone_set('UTC'); to the top of the /usr/share/zoneminder/www/includes/functions.php script. Looks like Fedora 12's default ...

The slashdot story brought me back. I was in discussions juts last month with someone over paid support, and they required an SLA. I could not easily meet it by my self. However, several of us could... If we want to actually take paid support to the next level, I can help. I even have access to a 2...

Yep very nice although again some confusion over paid support i really think if possible outlining exactly what you get with paid support is a good idea. IE, you pay X, you can submit tickets to a system which allow us to track issues and securely transmit sensitive data. In addition there is phone...
