Debian/Mepis Linux 2.4.22 Kernel Pentium IV 2.6 786M ram ZM 1.19.3 4 Cameras on a single bttv chip card ffmpeg version 0.4.8 Although I am way back on 1.19.3 I think this is also applicable to the current version of zm. Renamin Monitors
I was having problems renaming monitors. If I renamed monitor named XYZ to ABC, all seemed to work. However, the link in the Events directory pointing to the Monitor ID directory, was still named XYZ. It seems the following 'if' clause in zm_actions.php was never executing. if ( $changes['Name'] ) {...

I also am using a single chip bttv card. I have at least one camera rotated 90 degrees all the time. The unrotated picture is 320x240. Just rotating the image in Monitor > Source produces the distortion you described ie: subsequent channels are messed up. Changing the source for the rotated camera t...

I've changed the /etc/sysctl.conf. My machine boots up with the values 131072. Here's a portion of sysctl -a after a boot. net.core.netdev_max_backlog = 300 net.core.dev_weight = 64 net.core.rmem_default = 65535 net.core.wmem_default = 65535 net.core.rmem_max = 131072 net.core.wmem_max = 131072 vm.m...

Frame Server Error
I have increased both net.core.rmem_max and net.core.wmem_max from 65535 to 131072 and changed ZM_FRAME_SOCKET_SIZE to 131072 in Options but I still get the occasional incomplete frame write as you can see in the attached log. I thought it might have something to do with 2 cameras being in alarm sta...

Ross: I have made some progress. I copied the entire kernel source tree to /home/user. This gave me full read/write access. I then compiled the driver using this make statement: make -C /home/user/linux-2.6.7-2.tmb.3mdk SUBDIRS=$PWD INSTALL_MOD_PATH=/home/user modules This created the object module ...

Ross: Thanks for compiling the driver for me. However you were right. I cannot use it for the reasons you mentioned. I use an earlier version of the driver for my main ZoneMinder installation on my home machine. It has a 2.4.xx kernel and all works well. I have 4 outdoor cameras connected to a video...
