Re: Buffer -> Alarm Frame Count not being honoured
What are the general, source, and storage settings for your camera? I tested the alarm frame count on my 1.32.3 machine, and while I haven't had events less than the specified frames yet, I did see that the FPS # on console gets broken as soon as Alarm Frame Count is adjusted. Before my cameras repo...

Re: Stuck in Privacy Page - Can't Access Console (New Install)
Mint is an unusual choice for ZM. Which instructions did you use to install it? You should be using the wiki guides here: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Helpful_user_contributed_resources#Installation_Procedure See the Ubuntu specific guides. The privacy page is loaded if ZM_SHOW_PRIVACY in the DB (zm....

Re: H264 Pass through VS X264 Server Load
Realize, that if you enable saving JPEGs, you are now using more CPU which defeats the purpose of H264 passthrough. It's not that you can't do it, but understand it has a trade off. Writing 1920x1080 pixel JPEGs at 8FPS will be CPU intensive. Saving JPEGs is how ZM =<1.30.4 worked - save JPEG of eac...

Re: Reuse old DVR or purchase a Video Capture Card ? Please suggest
I would not bother with a PCI capture card. Instead, you can use an IP video encoder. See the wiki for the current hardware recommendations https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Hardware_Compatibility_List. Streaming from the DVR is also a good option if it is compatible with ZM. Read the user manual of the D...

Re: Zoneminder option to send an email?
Guides for email configuration are on the wiki: https://wiki.zoneminder.com/How_to_get_ssmtp_working_with_Zoneminder https://wiki.zoneminder.com/SMS_Notifications Filters are fundamental to ZM. They are used for scheduling everything. Heads up, you'll also need to make sure purgewhenfull filter poin...

Re: Migrate Zoneminder to new server
Easiest thing to do when migrating is to copy the Monitor configurations only. That will save you if you have greather than a few cameras, from reconfiguring everything. You can backup the old db with mysqldump, restore it to the new server, and then run zmupdate.pl which will auto update the db to ...

Re: High CPU usage
For general high CPU usage tweaks see https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=28292 For your setup, using Passthrough and not recording any JPEG frames will be the most efficient. You can't set max FPS on ZM for FFMPEG, only on camera. Delete that entry, then set FPS on camera to 5 or...

Re: Camera still thinks it's linked
Are you sure the entry from LinkedMonitors is deleted on the settings page for the cameras? Sounds like it didn't delete correctly. Delete the entries for the linkedmonitors field. Either using phpmyadmin, or a mysql query from the DB and you should stop receiving those errors. The db field for Link...

Re: Need Recommendation for Zone Minder Server
Debian 9 has install for 1.32.3 in various flavors. I set up a Pi 3B+ tonight with ZM 1.32.3.So with Debian 9 on at least an i5 quad core and 16 GIG ram it should run you just fine. Looks like you are right. ZMRepo appears to have libmp4v2-2 as a dependency in debian/control and the cmake config fo...

Logon to mysql with mysql -u root -p then run the following commands:
Do any monitors have entries for the LinkedMonitors field? Have you restarted ZM?
Code: Select all
show databases;
use zm;
show tables;
select * from Monitors\G

Re: Need Recommendation for Zone Minder Server
I'm running ver 1.30.04 on Debian 9 with 4 2mp poe cameras set to Mocord at 9 fps and everything works fine. I want to upgrade the cameras to at least 4mp, possibly as high as 8mp if the price is right, as well as add 5 more cameras for a total of 9. Buy a used server on ebay or a local IT recycler...

Re: <Solved> PurgeWhenFull won´t purge or purge too much on Storagearea
In 1.32+ I believe you have to add to the existing purge when full filter
This is probably only when you are using a storage area different from the default.
Code: Select all
AND "storage area" equal to <storage area name>
