Re: Using ZMTrigger with ESP8266, MonitorID is problematic
I am thinking of using an MQTT broker and a php MQTT client that can trigger ZMTrigger. Maybe via a database store. Is this a bad idea?

Using ZMTrigger with ESP8266, MonitorID is problematic
Hi, inspired by zmtrigger.blogspot and ESP8266-Tiny-Door-and-Window-Sensor I got to work with a project. It is basicly an ESP-01 with magnetic switches. Now, seems rather cumbersome to me that I have to recompile my sensors for every monitor reconfiguration. Is there a better way to reach my monitor...

Re: HAIWVISION AK47L7
In the end I had to set up a live555proxy to make this camera stable. That works fine.

Re: Change focus on local (USB) camera
Well, focus or other settings. I think the focus is the problem. It look like it is possible to change it from cli: v4l2-ctl --set-ctrl=focus_absolute=100 or v4l2-ctl --set-ctrl=focus_auto=0 Example from an other application: Focus — Focus is set to auto by default on the C930e Webcam. To manually a...

Change focus on local (USB) camera
Is there a way to change the focus of a local usb camera in ZoneMinder?
Or should "v4l2-ctl" be used from outside ZoneMinder?

Re: iptables, nat; How do I block camera from the internet
Well, if you drop at INPUT wont all traffic be blocked? My Zonminer is running on the same computer so I want the camera to talk to it. But not have it´s traffic forwarded to the internet. That´s why I put the filter at FORWARD. I am just a bit puzzled as to why it works. At FORWARD mac addresses ar...

Re: Illegal mix of collations
Sorry, found the solution:
Change Mariadb settings:
nano /etc/mysql/my.cnf
Make the following changes:
character-set-server = latin1
collation-server = latin1_swedish_ci

Re: iptables, nat; How do I block camera from the internet
It does try to connect to internet. See: https://forums.zoneminder.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=25518 Many cams do. I run an Ubuntu computer as router so I do not think it has upnp. But is does nat and dhcp for me. All local devices get their gateway from my dhcp server. Changing the gateway would m...

MAC filtering for unsecure IP cams
Not sure this is the right place but I wanted to share how I did it. I have a iptable nat:ed network. My set up: echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o "external nic" -j MASQUERADE iptables -A FORWARD -i "external nic" -o "internal nic"...

Re: iptables, nat; How do I block camera from the internet
This doesn't work for me.
Looks like MAC address is changed before the FORWARD chain. So -m mac does not make sense here.

Re: ZM 1.30.0 & UBNT UVC v3.5.0.62
Try adding something like 5 to the three FPS fields. Open the stream in vlc and check the tools->codec values. Sometimes there are two different sets of pixel values. Use the biggest. Make sure you stopped vlc before trying with ZM. Operation now in progress indicates port busy (?). You can try open...
