Well. Maybe not... quite.
I do have it working, but if I try to use nphMotionJpeg, I get all kinds of binary crap in my logs, under the guise of "Unknown Media Type" (or whatever the heck it is that that HTTP header is actually called). Switching back to SnapshotJPEG works, though even at 2500ms, I still have some ...

I'm not sure motion-JPEG isn't a misnomer in our environment, anyway. It's a very specific thing; a codec format used by, for example, the Miro DC cards (-10 and -30, at least), and what, for example, the Panasonic BL-c series cameras send is really just a bunch of normal JPEG's in sequence. So, if ...

And anyone familiar with ZM internals... or anyone with half a *brain* (like my cow-orker Kevin) would spot that this: > select(6, [5], NULL, NULL, {0, 500}) = 0 (Timeout) means I turned the global network timeout down, and I turned it down *too far*. Which leads inexorably back to the first rule of...

In short
each carrier and each model of phone probably does this an entirely different way, and it's a revenue source for the carriers; they are *not* going to go out of their way to make it easy for us, unless we're giving them hundreds of thousands of dollars -- hell; some phone browsers won't even display...

mostly SOLVED: zmc select still timing out -- on one of two
As noted in this forum message , I was having trouble with zmc timing out in select, and I thought I'd fixed it. I was worng. Or at least, I was half wrogn. :-) After some tuning and tweaking, I got the Panasonic camera to work with 1.21.0 on my office machine; records, modects, everything works nic...

Well, it depends on whether you need motion or not.
If a frame or two a second is good enough, you can use wget to retrieve a frame from each camera, and the netpbm tools or ImageMagick to stich them together. You'll then have a sequence of frames you can stream out along with the music.

Did you do...
that step about "mysql ... db/zmschema.sql"?
(BTW, Phil, for some reason, the doco seems not to mention the "db/" part, though every time I've gotten to that step, that was where I was not. Did the location of the populate script get changed, and the manual didn't keep up?)

It wouldn't.
You'd use regular video cameras, quad split them, then feed them into a capture card to webcast. If you already *have* the webcams, then your problem is different, and I'm not sure you coulc press Zoneminder into that service anyway, since what you need is a *real* signal with all four cameras in it...

zms (in watch) breaks when switching from a scale factor
I got my zmc problems fixed, though I'm still not entirely certain how. I now am officially in Last Bug mode; suggestions appreciated: I can pop up a Watch window on the monitor (in monitor mode) that's watching my Panasonic BL-C10 camera. It streams (to both FireFox 1.0.4 and Netscape 8) and everyt...

Personally...
I'd just buy a color quad-splitter, and feed *that* into the capture card.

Ok, then...
In a wildly strange twist... it's working now. Not sure what I did, honestly. Well... it's *almost* working. It will record, and monitor, and playback events... but if I pull up a monitor window, and close it later, and then open another one on the same camera in less than some undetermined timeout,...

Well, I'm not at all sure...
that you should be trying to use MyS 3.anything; that's pretty dated.
But have you tried
locate libmy
?
The directory in which that file lives is the directory you need to specify to --with-mysql, which isn't all that clear in the doco...

FAQ! FAQ!! :-)
You need to install the -devel RPM that goes with your version of MySQL; that's where the library you need lives. This is a common problem with all open source software that uses databases; the libraries they need are usually put in -devel packages by packagers. It makes a certain amount of sense: y...
