I think Events aren't moved... archived is only a conditional state to be used by filters...
When you click on video, a window popsup and the first thing showing is...
Video Format... that is what you have to change to what ever format you want...

on record list, got some record dated of 01/01/1970 That is a corrupted event... you have to delete that entrie, I get those when I restart zoneminder... Maybe is because of this... http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ#Why_does_ZM_stop_recording_once_I_have_32000_events_for_my_monitor.3F If that's the case, you might want to add some filters, 2... 1 to delete stuffs once the HDD reach a maximum... they say 95%, but you can put what ever, like...
