Re: Newbie questions about disk usage and latency
you can only use zm to set the fps if using jpeg grabs/capture cards. If using any other method you should not but a lower value in the fps setting than is being streamed. Limit at source if needed

Re: PTZ control from serial port (RS485 and Pelco P protocol
you might want to try the address either side of the actual address in the head.
Im not sure which but one of the pelco protocols p or d, has it +1.

Re: IP or analog? How to decide for home surveillance syste
Just run cat 5. You can then use ip or analogue later. Coax is only used now for hdsdi and for patch leads. Use a genie utp balun to send video up a pair of the cat 5 and use the rest for power. Then you can upgrade to ip later. However ip (decent) will out perform anything analogue

I have played with the atom based zotac boxes. Might be worth a look. But also bought some hp microservers. Not hugely powerful but I got them for £182 with £100 cash back after 30 days from hp. Absolute bargain.

Re: Steps to port forward zm video stream to the WAN
Assuming its working on the local lan then your issue is your router. You can configure apache to listen on another port but its easier to leave the zm machine on port 80 then forward say 82 to 80 in the router. Also some ISP block certain ports as a lot do not permit hosting

Re: Noisy, interlaced frames after adding two more PAL camer
I have only played with the techwell cards and had to install the driver for it as it wasnt in the kernel. It isnt ideal.
You say you have it working in motion perfectly?
Id be interested if you explained more on this as id like to see where the difference is?

Re: CCTV PCIe Capture Card For 4x BNC Cameras
any interlace issue isnt zm related but driver related. Did you try adjusting the v4l2 options? Ive noticed on more mature hardware the deinterlace filters work but new stuff does not. Again this is a driver issue and will settle. I have tried using a new connexant based pci-c card with success apar...

Re: Black screen problem
You will need to work on getting linux to recognise it. Id say thats your issue not zm at the moment. USB stuff on linux can be flakey at the best of times. Do you have a desktop on this linux box?
